Alli Rune
Somatic Therapist & Educator, and Founder of Primordial Medicine

My relationship to the body began right out of the womb.

I was born with spina bifida, and much of my life has been shaped by a deep curiosity about embodiment, adaptation, pain, healing, resilience, and the intelligence of the body.

For more than a decade, I have immersed myself in embodied healing work, studying and practicing across somatic therapy, nervous system healing, ritual, creativity, symbolic process, ritual theater, relational repair, yoga, rites of passage work, Reiki, depth psychology, mythopoetic exploration, and earth-based practices.

Before I had language for this work, I knew the medicine lived beneath words. I felt it in silence. In grief. In pain. In art. On the land. Within animals. In the crevices of my body.

Over time, these experiences led me toward the study of somatic therapy and the creation of Primordial Medicine, a practice rooted in the belief that healing happens not through perfection or self-eradication, but through deeper relationship with the body, the psyche, the land, animals, spirit, and the parts of ourselves we have learned to exile. Primordial Medicine was born from both personal experience and a growing awareness of the profound disconnection so many of us live with: disconnection from the body, the earth, our instinct, authentic expression, one another, and ourselves.

My work weaves somatic practice, symbolic exploration, nervous system healing, ritual, relational witness, creativity, and mythopoetic inquiry to support people in reconnecting with themselves more honestly and fully.

I am currently in my final year of somatic therapy school and have completed all 1:1 practicum hours. But beyond any modality or credential, I care deeply about creating spaces where people no longer have to abandon parts of themselves in order to belong.

I believe many of our symptoms are intelligent adaptations rather than evidence of brokenness.

I believe the body carries wisdom.

And I believe our deepest healing is animal in nature.

Much of what shaped this work came through my relationship with Penelope, my three-legged rescue dog, who reminded me that healing does not happen through performance or perfectionism, but through presence, instinct, movement, attunement, relationship, and authenticity.

Outside of this work, I am deeply nourished by friendship, animals, storytelling, theater, art, dance, ritual, and the ongoing practice of becoming more fully human.

I am queer, neurodivergent, sober, fiercely loving, endlessly curious, and deeply shaped by my relationships with land, animals, art, community, and advocacy. I identify strongly with the archetypal mother and currently live on Northern Paiute land. I am of Swedish and Danish descent. I am a Capricorn Sun, Leo Rising, Gemini Moon and Pisces Venus ;)
